An Invitation to Professionals and Organizations
Traumatic Incident Reduction Model Training
Kathryn McCormack-Chen, LCSW, RN is a facilitator and trainer for the Traumatic Incident Reduction Association. The Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) approach is a brief, non-hypnotic, client centered model. The model is used with individuals who would like to address the negative impact of past traumatic experiences. TIR can result in restoration of a sense of well being. Kathryn has extensive experience using the TIR model to address unresolved trauma and PTSD. Her experience using this technique with 9/11 survivors has been published in Beyond Trauma: Conversations on Traumatic Incident Reduction by Victor R. Volkman, Loving Healing Press, Ann Arbor, MI, 2004.
Kathryn provides training in use of the TIR model to professionals and organizations. Kathryn will be offering the next 4 day training in the TIR model on December 10 to December 13, 2010 in Leesburg, Virginia. There will be 28 APA or NASW CEUs for this training. Note that there is a prerequisite. Register online now for this program.
If you would prefer to register by phone or get additional information, please call Kathryn at 703-734-8760.
A free 1.5 hour overview of the TIR model is offered to groups considering the 4 day workshop.
Check back often for additional offerings. If you would like us to contact you when additional training dates are added, please email us.
Pastoral Counselors/Clergy Training
The first contact a person makes when a loved one is caught in the downward spiral of a compulsive disorder like alcoholism/drug addiction is often their pastor. We offer a three-day training for Pastoral Counselors/Clergy to teach them the Johnson Model of Intervention. This “intervention” is a gentle confrontation to help the person seek treatment. This model also can be applied to obesity, eating disorders, gambling or sex addiction.
